Darrell Edward McNutt, 43, bookkeeper of Bray Motor Co. at Onawa, Ia., died unexpectedly Sunday en route to a Mapleton, Ia., doctor’s office after suffering a heart attack at home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Castana Community church. Rev. Everett Epperson and Joel Patrick will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery at Mapleton under direction of Walter funeral home of Mapleton. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Grimsley Thayer post 502, American Legion.

Mr. McNutt was born October 14, 1919, at Mapleton. He was a Castana resident for the last 35 years. For seven years, he operated a service station here and later was a car salesman for Barry Motor Co. at Mapleton.

He married Edalene Claus April 20, 1946, in Sioux City.

Mr. McNutt was a veteran of world war 2 and a member of Grimsley Thayer post 502, American Legion and Eagles lodge 2270 at Onawa.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Connie at home; two sisters, Mrs. Wallace Parker of Sloan, Ia., and Mrs. Robert Craig of Sioux City; and a brother, Charles of Grand Junction, Colo.
