HORNICK Iowa -- Gerald "Jerry" Sieger, 54, of Hornick died Tuesday in a hospital in Onawa after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church in Hornick. The Rev. Gary DeGeest will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs with graveside rites conducted by Hindman-Steele Post 492, American Legion. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. today in the Wood Funeral Home in Sloan.

Mr. Sieger was born May 8, 1929, at Lawton. He married Mary Johnston Nov. 17, 1950, at Hornick. He was a lifetime area construction worker.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hornick, American Legion and Operating Engineers Union Local 234. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Survivors Include his wife; one son, Jim of Hornick; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Diane) Stangl of Des Moines; one brother, Marvin of Hornick; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Harriet) Smith of Kingsley and Mrs. Ted (Donna) Metcalf of Laporte, Colo., and three granddaughters.
