Nancy Marie Metcalf, 71, of Whiting, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A Funeral Mass will be 9:00 A.M. Monday, April 26, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church, Onawa, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding, Celebrant officiating. (Please bring and wear masks). Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, April 25, 2021 with a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Nancy Marie was born October 2, 1949 in Le Mars, Iowa the daughter of Verdon J “VJ” and Lorna “June” (Schnepf) Doud. She graduated from Gehlen Catholic School in Le Mars, Iowa.

Nancy and Dwight Metcalf were united into marriage September 7, 1968 at St. Joe Catholic Church in Le Mars, Iowa.

Nancy worked for the Alzheimer’s Association as a senior service coordinator. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide for Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa. Nancy wrote many grants as a coordinator for The Oakleaf.

She enjoyed helping others in need and was a foster parent for over 40 years. She was a true angel on earth. Nancy loved dogs, shopping, and going out to eat.

Nancy was on the board of directors for Siouxland Community Health, Sioux City, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight Metcalf of Whiting, Iowa; her children, Kirk (Tammy) Metcalf, Darla (Allen) Mohr, Atalie (Casey) Simpson, Elizabeth Metcalf, Tiara Metcalf, and Payton Metcalf; grandchildren, Beau Metcalf, Kaila Mohr, Paige Metcalf, Mackenzie Mohr, Madison Mohr, Amanda Funkhouser, Haylie Lasher, Carolann Mohr, Brian Mohr, Lance Mohr, Kamerion Mohr, Jacob Mohr, Sonrie Mohr, Mirissa Mohr, Stevie Mohr, Dax Simpson, and Beckett Simpson; great-grandchildren, Harper, Trey, Chace, Talia, and Autumn; sister, Sue (Randy) Burns; brother, Michael Doud; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, VJ and June Doud; in-laws, Alton and Hazel Metcalf; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Metcalf.
