Martha F. Schoening
Martha Fredricka Schoening, 88, of 108 Grace St., died Wednesday at a Council Bluffs hospital following a short illness.
She was born in Hamburg, Germany and came to the United States and the Council Bluffs community in 1909. Her husband, Nels, died in 1962.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Henry Techau of Council Bluffs, Nich Techau of Glenwood and Fred Techau of Silver City; four sisters, Olga Vogt, Ella Techau and Anita Fox, all of Council Bluffs and Audrey Knight of Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Clemens Hartfield will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
