Nicholas Techau
MINEOLA - Service for Nicholas H. Techau, 88, will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in the Mineola Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Wilkowski of St.John Lutheran Church will officiate.
Mr. Techau died Friday at the Glen Haven Nursing Home in Glenwood.
Mr. Techau was born in Hamburg, Germany, and moved to southwest Iowa in 1910. He farmed most of his life in the Mineola area.
Mr. Techau is survived by his wife, Emma; sons, Ernest of Council Bluffs, Herbert of Oakville, Calif., and Wallace of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Olga Vogt, Ella Techau and Anita Fox of Council Bluffs and Audrey Knight of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Henry of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the church or the nursing home. Family visitation will be Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home.
