Harold Edward Scott was born February 15, 1925 in Birmingham, Iowa, the son of Walter Scott and Edna (Townsend) Scott.

He grew up in Pleasantville, graduating with the Pleasantville High School class of 1943. Following graduation Harold joined the Army. After completing boot-camp, he returned to Pleasantville where he worked at the Marion County News as a printer.

Harold was united in marriage to Wanda Selby on June 6, 1946. The couple made the move to Des Moines where Harold worked as a printer at the West Des Moines Express for over 30 years.

Harold and Wanda loved to travel, vacationing in Alaska, Europe, Hawaii, the mountains in Dillon, CO and anywhere else, just loving to see the country. He was also a dedicated Barbara Mandrel fan, having had the opportunity to meet her in Nashville a couple of times.

Harold passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 21 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marian, and a brother as a toddler.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; son, Steve of Shakopee, MN; grandchildren, Joseph Scott of Shakopee, MN, Amanda Scott of Burnsville, MN along with other relatives and many friends.

Burial: Pleasantville Cemetery
