Jerry L. Moneysmith was born May 3, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Elmer Jackson Moneysmith and Alveretta Luverne (Clark) Moneysmith.

Jerry was raised in the Knoxville, Swan and Pleasantville areas and graduated with the Pleasantville High School Class of 1960.

He worked for the egg hatchery in Pleasantville for a while and then at Western Tool. Jerry then worked for A.M.F. for 29 years and for the last 15 years he has been employed at EMCO in Des Moines. He had also worked for the Checkerboard Restaurant in Pleasantville.

Jerry enjoyed carpentry work, and in his spare time he remodeled houses. He also liked to play cards and spend time with his family.

He passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his home at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 25 days.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Harold and a sister, Frances Mecham

Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Dorothy Streeter and brother, Larry (Dixie) Moneysmith all of Knoxville, and many nieces and nephews.
