James Keith "Chief" Breazeale was born August 8, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Herbert Eugene Breazeale and Velma Lucille (Driscill) Breazeale.

He was raised in Des Moines and attended Park Avenue Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High with the Class of 1956. Following graduation, Jim went to Colorado and worked in a logging camp for the summer, then went to California and returned to Des Moines that fall. He built cars in Des Moines and worked in salvage yards.

On May 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to Charleen Marie Harris at the Park Avenue Christian Church in Des Moines.

In 1963 Jim and Charleen bought the salvage yard in Pleasantville, and in 1965 they moved their family to Pleasantville. Jim owned and operated Mid-State Truck & Auto until his death.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. His favorite thing to do during mushroom season was to sell mushroom maps.

Jim passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his home at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by a brother, in infancy; his parents and a sister, Beverly Raph.

He is survived by his wife, Charleen; 4 sons: Steven of Trenton, MO, Shawn of Dallas, Iowa, Shane of Dallas, Iowa and James Mull of Dallas, Iowa and 6 grandchildren: Jessika, Ashley, Travis, Cheyanne, Raeghan and Ella.

Burial: Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
