Jarrod Dean Hagenow was born May 11, 1967 in La Porte, Indiana the son of Arno and Norma (Lindlauf) Hagenow.

He was raised in Indiana and Wisconsin, and graduated from high school Terre Haute, Indiana.

Jarrod met the love of his life, Angie Boyd, at the age of 17. The couple was united in marriage on August 16, 1986 in Terre Haute. Jarrod and Angie moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated from Concordia College.

Following graduation, they moved to Terre Haute where they lived until moving to Des Moines in 1996 and then to Knoxville in 2004. Jarrod was a wood craftsman and worked in the construction industry all his life. Before moving to Knoxville, he worked with his brother at Hagenow Brothers, Inc. in Des Moines. He was currently employed as the outside marketing and salesperson for Spahn & Rose Lumber in Knoxville.

Jarrod loved his family, playing the piano, woodworking, fishing, the land, and all of God’s creation. His great passion was serving as a lay pastor for the Pleasantville Gospel Chapel. He was a hard-working man who never found a challenge he couldn’t overcome. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving and faithful husband, devoted father, son and brother; and a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jarrod passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, in Pleasantville, Iowa, at the age of 42 years, 3 months and 29 days, while participating in a weekly Bible study. The last passage he read was Romans, Chapter three.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edwin Lindlauf and his paternal grandparents, John and Rosetta Hagenow.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Angie; children, Tersha (Sam) McNeely, Carli Elizabeth, Breanna Jean, Wyatt John and Tanner Lee and a granddaughter, Adela Grace all of Knoxville; his parents, Arno & Norma Hagenow of Altoona; brother, Edwin Lee Hagenow of Altoona; sister, Katrina (Brian) Anderson of Tucson, AZ; grandmother, Ruth Lindlauf of Velva, North Dakota and many other family members and friends.
