Edith Florene Bruere was born March 9, 1916 in Marion County, Iowa, the daughter of John V. Brady and Alta E. (Shilling) Brady.

She was united in marriage to Elmer C. Bruere on March 27, 1935 in Bethany, Missouri. The two lived on farms near Pleasantville, Percy and lastly Beech, where they remained until their retirement in 1975 when they moved to Knoxville.

While on the farm, Edith prepared the meals for the family and the farm hands, raised chickens and also did her share of helping in the field. Edith had a big garden that she tended to each year. She was active in the Beech Community Church with the Ladies Aid and was also a member of the Beech Garden Club.

Edith passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 27 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Ronald and Robert Brady.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Virginia Sue (Bruce) Sinnard of LaGrange Park, IL; sister, Wilma Fee of Knoxville; grandchildren, Darla (Thomas) Belzey, Shelly (William) Edenbeck, Julia (Steve) Cochran, Steven (Keeley) Sinnard; 6 great-grandchildren, Somer, Shay and Alek Sinnard, Riley Edenbeck, Kara and Maya Cochran; sisters-in-law, Mildred Roberts and Bonnie Moyer, along with other relatives and many friends.
