William Eugene Beal was born June 20, 1943 in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of William T. Beal and Norma Jean (Hart) Beal.

He grew up in the Tracy area graduating with the Bussey High School class of 1961.

William was united in marriage to Donna Kay Pottorff on June 20, 1963 at the Bussey United Methodist Church.

In the 1970’s William worked for Kent Feed & Grain operated by Glen VandeKamp. He later went on to work for Vermeer Manufacturing until his retirement on February 28, 2003.

William enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be working in the garden or helping out at his son’s farm with the cattle and hay. He was always ready to spend time with the grandkids so he could spoil them and send them home. William also loved to talk, never knowing a stranger.

He passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 66 years and 21 days.

William was preceded in death by his father and his two brothers, Dwayne and Wayne Beal.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Teresa (Rick) Heck of Dallas, James (Gina) Beal of Knoxville, Jeni (Jason) Van Houten of Blackwell, MO, Lisa Beal (Todd Lindsey) of Ankeny; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; mother, Norma Jean Beal of Knoxville; sisters, JoAnne (Dave) Patton of Beacon, Patty (Paul) Watkins of Tracy, along with other relatives and many friends.
