Doris Lorraine Mott was born on September 11, 1920 in Knoxville, Iowa. She was one of six children born to Georgia Mae Pitt and Porter Glen Waits.

On August 1, 1941 Doris was united in marriage to Benjamin “Ben” Mott. To this union two daughters were born.

For many years Doris and Ben managed Lakeland Motel. Doris enjoyed collecting “stuff” in her spare time. One of her favorite collections was dolls. Doris also spent many hours crocheting.

Doris Lorraine Mott passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 4 days.

Those family members preceding her in death were her parents; husband; grandson, Ricky; two brothers; and three sisters.

Those left to mourn her passing are two daughters and their husbands, Patty and Larry McVey and Cindy and Robert Turner of Knoxville; five grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa on October 20, 2008.
