Logan Emerson Rowland, son of Joseph Marion and Lauretta Rowland, was born, December 9, 1885, in Sterling, Neb., and died at the Yocom hospital, Chariton, January 8, 1954, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 9 days.
The deceased was united in marriage to Mary Frances Elliott, February 26, 1908. To this union one son, Harold, was born.
Mr. Rowland was united with the Methodist church when a young man.
Mr. and Mrs. Rowland resided on a farm northeast of Dallas for twenty-five years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Freddie, Joe and Ray. Survivors are his widow, Mary, and his son, Harold and wife, Doris, four grandchildren, and one brother, Clarence Rowland, of Gosport, one sister, Mrs. Grayce Smith, of Des Moines, and a step-brother, Don Kirkman, of Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Azel Smith, assisted by Rev. Althea Gugeler, from the Methodist church in Melcher, Wednesday, January 20, at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Gosport cemetery.
