Lloyd Morrow Maddy, son of Charles W. and Myrtilla Maddy, was born, July 16, 1886, in Marion county, and grew to manhood in Iowa. He spent a number of years farming in the state of Wyoming, coming back to Iowa, in 1939. He resided on the Maddy homestead near Columbia until three years ago when he moved to a farm north of Pleasantville.
Mr. Maddy had been ill since April, 1953, and died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines, January 22, 1954.
The deaceased is survived by his widow, Bertha, a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Cankar, of Waukegan, Ill., a brother, Ralph, and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Line and Mrs. Ruby Maddy, all of Knoxville.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Bybee and Davis funeral home, conducted by Rev. B. L. Luse. Interment was in Lincoln cemetery, under auspices of American Legion Post No. 168
