Dr. Carl Mulky, a former resident, of Knoxville, died at Albuquerque, N. Mex., at his home, at the age of 75 years.
The deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Mulky, and he was born in Knoxville, July 27, 1877. Death was due to a heart condition, from which he had suffered for several years.
Dr. Mulky is survived by his widow, the former Maude Clark, of Knoxville,
One week previous to his death, Dr. Mulky was elected president of the medical staff at the New Mexico state sanitarium. He had practiced in Albuquerque for thirty-three years specializing in diseases of the chest. He was a past-president of the New Mexico Medical society.
His medical education was at the Chicago Homeopathic Medical college and the Rush Medical college. Later he took post-graduate training at the Truedeau School of Tuberculosis. He then went into private practice in Knoxville, where he remained until 1916, when he entered the Cleveland Municipal Tuberculosis sanitarium as a resident physician, serving for a year.
In 1917, Dr. Mulky entered the service as a captain in the medical corps. He was discharged in 1919, and had been located in Albuquerque since 1920.
Dr. Mulky was a past president of a number of medical associations in New Mexico and was a fellow in the American Medical association, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.
From its beginning in 1936, Dr. Mulky served as medical examiner for the Selective Service for five years.
Dr. Mulky was a member of the First Methodist church in Albuquerque, Temple Lodge No. 6, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite in Santa Fe, and a past potentate of Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine at Albuquerque. He was also a member of the Golden Legion, comprised of members of the Phi Delta Theta for more than fifty years and was presented with a fifty-year service recognition by the Bernillilo County Medical Society in New Mexico, in April, 1952.
Funeral services were held from the First Methodist church in Albuquerque, last Saturday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. James G. Brawn, with burial at Fairway cemetery, at Albuquerque.
