Ray Henry Stephens, son of John and Emma Stephens was born in Marion county, Sept. 16, 1900 and died June 8, 1949 at the age of 48 years 8 months and 22 days.
He spent his entire life in this vicinity having attended the Knoxville grade and high school. On March 3, 1937, he was married to Marlene Dachenbach who survives him.
He was a member of the Methodist church since early in life. Also surviving are one brother, George of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Brown, Des Moines and Mrs. Louie Funk, Newton.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, June 10 at 2 o’clock from the Bybee-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. P. Knepper officiating. Interment was in Graceland cemetery.
