Robert H. Crowley, a former resident of Marion and Lucas counties, died at his home in Waterloo, Ia., Friday, Sept 22, after an extended illness.
The deceased was born in Lucas county, July 26, 1866, a son of the late David and Annie Crowley. He was married in 1892 to Josephine Mathis of Columbia. To this union were born ten children, three of whom preceded him i8n death. They were Mrs. Mabel Elliott, H. M. Crowley and Mrs. Frank Boozel.
Those surviving are Mrs. Fannie Harn, Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Hazel Brunson and Mrs. Faye Aldrich, Waterloo, Ia., Corliss C. of Waverly, Ia., Gail W. and Kenneth D., of Clarksville, Ia., and George K. of Waterloo, Ia., two sisters, Mrs. Ina Boerrigter, Chicago, Mrs. Belva Bugg, Niagara Falls, Ont., and Mrs. Amanda Waite, Parsons, Kans.; two brothers, G. A., of Prince Albert, Canada, and T. D. of Knoxville; also 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Mr. Crowley lived in Lucas county many years, then moved his family to northern Iowa, in 1915, where he had made his home until his death. He spent the greater part of his life farming.
Funeral services were held at the Kearns Chapel in Waterloo, Saturday, Sept. 23; burial was in the Columbia cemetery, where he was laid to rest beside his wife, after a short service at the grave.
