Corey Brown, 46, of Lorimor died December 25, 2023, following a traffic accident on Highway 92 near Winterset. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 4, 2024, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family. Online condolences may be made at powersfh.com.

Corey Matthew Brown was born November 12, 1977, in Winterset, Ia. to Franklin Wayne Farlow and Nilda Michelle (Stonehocker) Brown. Corey attended both East Union and Winterset Schools.

On August 8, 2006, Corey was united in marriage to Megan Marie Berry in Creston, Ia. They settled in Lorimor, until their unfortunate house fire. He had been staying and caring for a friend with cancer in Creston. While working, Corey had a variety of jobs, including several construction positions, working for himself and others in the area. Corey worked for P and L Recycling, recycling metal. Corey had been operating his own business called B and B Construction running an excavator doing farm tile work among other projects.

Corey is survived by his wife, Megan Brown of Lorimor, Ia.; three children Tristin Brown of Urbandale, Ia., Ashley Brown of Creston and Ryker Brown of Lorimor; three grandchildren, Kaiden Brown, Denver Boswell and Annistyn Boswell; a brother, Joshua Brown of Omaha, Neb.; a sister Jayme (husband Shane) Preston-Raney of Harrah, Okla. and uncles, Mike Stonekocker of Avon Lake, Ia and John Stelplugh of Marceline, Mo.

Corey was preceded in death by his parents.
