Helen Berry, 98, of Winterset, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Azria Health in Winterset.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to EveryStep Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at caldwellparrish.com.

Helen was born in Winterset, Iowa on July 11, 1925 to Earl and Mabel (Lucas) Welch. She attended Winterset Schools, and graduated from Winterset High.

She married Charles Berry on July 4, 1944 and to this union five children were born: Judy, Sharon, Stephen, Debra, and Randy.

Helen belonged to the Happy Hour Club for many years, loved old-time country music, and was a very competitive Pitch player.

Helen devoted her life to farming with her husband, Charles, and maintained an impeccable farmstead.

Helen is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Judy Farlow, Sharon Holtz (Tom Hommer), Stephen (Cheryl) Berry, Debra (David) White, and Randy (JoAnn) Berry; grandchildren, Kimberly Davis, Kevin Farlow, Mike Holtz, Doug (Susan) Holtz, Bart Berry, Bret (Carrie) Berry, Robert Wagner, Jeff Wagner, Thomas (Amanda) White, Curtis (Kaylee) Berry; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mabel Welch; sisters, Mary Nair and Betty Cummings; brothers, Roland Welch and Wayne Welch; and grandson, Lucas Berry.
