The Catherine Shear in Lee Co., IL:

The oldest son listed in 1850 census APPEARS to have stayed in Dixon, Lee Co.
He is probably the Adam Scheer that died in Chicago on 8/24/1910 with his residence listed as Dixon. You might want to get a death certificate and, hopefully, an obit for this Adam Scheer.
