Hi,
I'm wondering if the spelling of the last name
McMahon was ever shortened to Mahon.
***George H. Lane was the second child of Clement H. and Mary Lane; Margaret was the first. Even though your Edward H. Lane would have been born before Margaret, he might still have been closely related to Clement, because Clement had a great-grandson named Wilbur.
I also see the Batchelder surname listed in your post's title. Ira Batchelder? married into another one of my families from Jones County, Iowa. Any connection?
