It appears he never married? I find him in the 1880 census age 23 as a "nephew" to Lydia Ager , occupation pedler, living in Millville, Clayton Co., IA Says father born England, mother born Iowa.

In the 1900 census shows he was born September 1857 (age 42) in Missouri, parents born Missouri...and a servant in the CL Holcomb household at Fairview, Jones Co., IA. Someome must have gave his info and didn't know about his background?

In 1920 he shows up in Linn Twp., Linn Co., IA stated as a forest laborer, age 62 with father born England and mother Iowa, border in the Joseph B. Tuel household.

Each year it says he was "single"

Can you provide some more info?
