LuAnn Reynolds, 69, lifelong resident of Iowa City, passed away October 1, 2023 at Windmill Manor.

A very informal celebration of LuAnn’s life will be Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers or donations, everyone will be asked to make sure they (and loved ones) are listed as organ donors on their drivers licenses.

LuAnn was born on June 24, 1954 in Iowa City to Henry and Thelma (Dubisher) Reynolds. She graduated from City High in 1972 before furthering her education at Kirkwood Community College where she earned her nursing degree. She later became a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC).

She spent her entire career at The University of Iowa, where she was a burn nurse for five years before becoming a transplant coordinator for an additional 35 years, retiring in 2017.

LuAnn met Dave Parsons in 1979, and they spent 44 memorable and eventful years together.

She will be remembered as being somewhat larger than life. Aside from her family and friends, LuAnn adored her cats, Carly and Gizmo, and she did her best to feed pretty much every wild critter living on the east side of Iowa City.

She is survived by her best friend and life partner Dave Parsons, sister-in-law Chris Reynolds, nephew Ty (Sheila) Reynolds, and niece Amanda Reynolds.

LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Thelma Reynolds, and brother Terry Reynolds.
