DIES SUDDENLY

Death of Local Woman;
Funeral Friday

Mrs. Lena Tomlin, 333 South Madison street, was found dead at her home Saturday evening at 6:15 o'clock by her daughter, Mrs. P. E. Depew, upon returning from Sidwell's store where she is employed.
Doctors pronounced the death as due to apoplexy.
Mrs. Tomlin, who had never suffered heart attacks, complained of discomfort to her daughter at noon and said she would lie down to rest. Her son, George Tomlin saw her at five o'clock and reported to Mrs. Depew that her condition was unchanged but neither thought it more than an attack of indigestion.
Mrs. Tomlin was born in Iowa City in May 1865, being 61 years of age at the time of her death. She was the widow of James Tomlin, who died tow years ago. Mrs. Depew made her home with her mother following her father's death.
Mrs. Tomlin is survived by six children, George Tomlin of Iowa City; Charles C. Tomlin, Long Beach Calif.; Wilbur Tomlin, Los Angeles, Mrs. Della Olson, Hurnn[?], S. D.; Mrs. Rena Ballard, Los Angeles;

and Mrs. Depew, this city; two brothers, William and Charles Groh and two sisters, Mrs. James Laughlin and Mrs. Etta Kreger, all of this city.
Funereal services will be from the Methodist church but no date has been fixed. Charles Tomlin of Long Beach and Mrs. Ballard of Los Angeles are expected to attend.
