Mrs. Grabin

COSGROVE -- Mrs. Ethel Grabin, 77, of Cosgrove died Saturday evening at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness.
Requiem high mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Church in Cosgrove. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the Donohue Mortuary, Iowa City. The Womenn's [sic] Catholic Order of Foresters of Cosgrove will recite the rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Mrs. Grabin was born near Cosgrove in Union Township Feb. 8, 1891, the daughter of Jacob and Kathryn Springmire Holzhauser. She graduated from Cosgrove High School in 1907.
In 1910 she married A. E. Ferris Beer who died in 1913. On June 6, 1922, she and William H. Grabin were married at St. Peter's Church. He died June 16, 1936.
Mrs. Grabin was a member of the Legion of Mary as well as St. Peter's parish and the Women's Order of Foresters.
Surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. Harold (Wilma) Wehrle of Cosgrove and Mrs. Lester (Anna) Rogers of Iowa City; a foster daughter, Mrs. Louis H. (Emma) Smith of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
A brother preceded her in death.
