Maymie M.Schmidt, 98 of Atrium Village formerly of 400 S. Dubuque Street died peacefully at Atrium Village on Saturday, May 01, 2004.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Lensing Funeral Service 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Atrium Village.

Maymie was born September 16, 1905 in Guernsey, Iowa the daughter of Ben and Anna (Buske) Kesselring. On August 17, 1932 she married Francis J. Schmidt. Early in her career she worked at Northwestern Bell for a number of years. Maymie worked as a Lab Technician in the Anatomy Department of the University of Iowa for over twenty six years retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Vicariate Naim Club.

She is survived by her sister, Helena Taylor of Greeley, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Clarissa Brenneman, Jennie Sanders and one brother Melvin Kesselring.
