June Irene Hay, 59, of 1712 N. 2nd Ave. E., a longtime resident of Jasper County, died today, April 3, at the Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Nolan Kelsey, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church, and the Rev. Oscar Shepherd, pastor of the Foursquare Church will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors are her mother, Margaret hay of Newton; two brothers, Bill Hay of Albert Lea, Minn., and Steve Hay of Sully; and two sisters, Patricia (Mrs. Wendell) Huff of Newton and Nadine (Mrs. Eugene) Cooley of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Morris Hay March 3, 1986.
Miss Hay, a member of the Hickory Grove Church, had worked at Newton Manufacturing Co. for nine years and in nursing homes in California before returning to Iowa to care for people in their own homes.
The daughter of the Morris and Margaret Stevens Hay, she was born Aug. 3, 1926 in Brooklyn, was graduated in 1947 from Kellogg High School and completed a nurse’s aide course.
She also had resided in Kellogg and Grinnell.
