Robert J. Sorg, 48, of 208 E. 19th St. N., died of heart failure Wednesday evening, Aug. 28, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. Darrell Sams, pastor of the Fairview Christian Union Church in Indianola. Location of burial has not been determined.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials in his name will be accepted.
Mr. Sorg was born March 14, 1948, in Muncie, Ind., the son of Harold and Geraldine Sorg. He graduated from high school in Muncie and attended Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., for one year. He lived in Muncie until moving to Newton in 1986.
He was married to Linda Hartwig Foust June 18, 1994, in Des Moines.
He was employed at Meisner Electric in Newton as a training coordinator estimator and also taught for the Associated Builders and contractors Association at DMACC. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and his hobby was trains of all sizes.
Survivors are his wife, three sons, Ryan, Kyle and Eric Foust, all of Newton; and a father-in-law, Milo Hartwig.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
