Aged Man Killed When Hit By Car On Highway
Altoona, IA., (UP) – Henry Spriggs, 74, Prairie City, was killed last night when he was struck by a car while walking on Highway 6 near here.
Polk County Coroner A. E. Shaw said Spriggs apparently became confused and stepped on the highway in front of the car.
Raymond Wallace, Des Moines, driver of the car, said he did not see Spriggs until he was almost upon him.
Shaw said Spriggs apparently walked into the side of the car. He said no inquest would be held.
