Monroe – Raymond Walter Botsford, son of Warren and Louisa Botford, was born April 19, 1888 at Prairie City and died at Portland Ore., Oct. 19, 1943.
He went with his parents to South Dakota in 1905 and was married to Rose Malcomb in 1936.
A veteran of World War I, he enlisted in the army at Mankato, Minn., in June, 1917, and was a member of the 135th Inf. He spent eight months in France and received his honorable discharge in June 1919.
He is preceded in death by his father in 1924 and his mother in 1939.
He is survived by his wife, brothers, Alfred and Alford, four sisters, Mrs. Allie Edwards, Mrs. Martha Viers, Mrs. Cora Currie, Ms. Pearl Wilson, all of Monroe, and one stepson, Marion Malcomb.
Funeral services were held at the Crumpacker Funeral home at two o’clock Oct. 25, with the Rev. Geo. Pennington officiating.
Burial was in the Monroe cemetery.
