Metz – Mrs. Ada Grace Stull Balmer was born October 20, 1897 in Ness county, Kansas, and died at the age of 55 years on Oct. 9, 1943, at her home here after being bedfast since June. She had been critically ill for six weeks from a malignant disease.
After the death of her mother, she came to Monroe at the age of ten, to live with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Sheeler.
She was united in marriage to Harry Balmer at Prairie City on March 15, 1910. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Barlin (sic) Balmer, of here and Sgt. Carroll Balmer of the Army Air Corps, who is a prisoner of war in Italy, two sisters in Oklahoma, two brothers and one grandson.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral arrangements were held at the Morgan Funeral home in Newton, Oct. 12, with the Rev. Geo. C. Pennington of the Monroe Methodist church, officiating.
Those in charge of the music were Mrs. Thelma Lewis and E. Lavon.
Pallbearers were Chester Sheeler, Clarence Sheeler, Charles Decker, John Rorabaugh, Jasper Beatty and Glenmore Rorabaugh.
Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
