Mrs. McVay Dies Friday
Injury Suffered In Fall Fatal To Colfax Woman; Rites Pending
Colfax (Special to The Daily News) – Mrs. Virginia McVay, 82, succumbed at the Skiff memorial hospital Friday evening at 10:30 o’clock after being admitted Nov. 20 after she fell and broke her hip.
Mrs. McVay was born Feb. 25, 1861, in Illinois and came to Jasper county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John McVay at the age of seven.
She married Carey McVay, who preceded her in death 24 years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Allen Warrick of Colfax, Mrs. Roy Smith, Mrs. Chet Irvin and Mrs. Edna Schoondyke of Des Moines, and Mrs. Frank Warrick of Valeria.
Funeral services are pending arrival of other relatives.
