Prominent Citizen Laid To Rest In Union Chapel Cemetery. His Memory Will Remain With Many
William Henry Trusler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Trusler, was born on a farm in Jasper county near Ira, Dec. 19, 1879, and died March 14, 1928, at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 26 days.
Mr. Trusler was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Trusler and has spent his entire life in this community.
On Sept. 8, 1909 he was united in marriage to Janet Leonard of near Colfax. To this union four children were born. One daughter Margaret Neva, having preceded him in death.
Several years ago he was united with the Methodist church of Ira and remained a faithful member.
Everything that medical skill could do was done, but to no avail and about four o’clock Wednesday morning he died. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three children, Lela, Morris, and Janet, his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Trusler, one brother Elmer, and six sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Iske, Mrs. Lillie Rippy, Mrs. Katie Weston, Mrs. Grace Weston, Mrs. Viva Berry and Mrs. Pearl Powliske; besides many relatives and a host of friends.
His wife and children, father, mother, brothers, and sisters were all at his bedside when the end came.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon March 17th, 1928, at the M. E. church at Ira, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. H. Perkins. The male quartet composed of Bert Sandy, Floyd Hulse, Shirley Brown and Roy Westfall of Mingo furnished the music, with Mrs. Lota Black of Wapello, at the piano.
Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery in Ira. The pallbearers were Zenas Jones, Will Baker, Frank Baker, Will Herboldt, Robert Welch, Kert Jefferies.
Those from a distance were Thomas Leonard of Morris, Minn., Mrs. Cecelia Wolf of Sheffield, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Simon Wolf of Hampton, Ia., George and Chrlie Wolf of near Hampton.
