Patricia L. Christinson, 73, of Grinnell died Tuesday, April 4, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Brandt, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, officiating. Organist will be Kathy McCune. Pallbearers will be Virgil Groth, Todd Hobbs, Allen, John and Roy Rupe, and Randy Smith. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery west of Grinnell.
The daughter of Horace J. and Alys L. Tarvestad Adkins, she was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Grinnell. She was a 1944 graduate of Grinnell High School.
She was married to Arthur Lee Smith in 1945 and later married George Christinson in 1964. Both marriages ended in divorce.
Mrs. Christinson lived in Grinnell all her life and was employed at several grocery stores in the area, with the majority of her time spent at McNally’s Foods. She also worked as a cook at the former Grinnell General Hospital and at the mayflower.
She was a member of the Victor Grange in Jasper County.
Survivors include four sons, Tom and Patrick Smith and Chris and Gary Christinson, all of Grinnell, and four grandchildren.
Her parents and one daughter, Lisa Kay Christinson, preceded her in death.
