Obituary of Mrs. Martin O’Connor
Mrs. Catharine O’Connor died at her home in Monroe, Ia., Friday Dec. 2, 1921 of heart failure. Catharine Hogan was born in County Limerick, Ireland April 19, 1850, aged 71 years, 7 months, 13 days. She came to America at the age of 16 years, settling in Philadelphia, Penn.
On Nov. 22, 1877 she was united in marriage to Martin O’Connor. To this union were born seven children: John, who departed this life April 23, 1903; James C., of Newton; Micheal F., of LeMont, Ill., Mrs. Nora Charles, Monroe; Mae and Catherine, of Des Moines; and Martin I. at home. She leaves six grandchildren.
The late deceased was one of six children, of whom there are two living, John and Michael Hogan, of Philadelphia, Penn.
She was a grand, good woman and leaves many memories of kind deeds and of a Christian life well spent. One such as is long mourned by relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church Tuesday morning, Dec. 6th, at 8 p.m., conducted by Rev. Thos. McCann. Burial was in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Des Moines.

O’Connor, of Perry; Mrs. Mae Matthews, of Oskaloosa; Geo Neff, of Mingo; Thos. and James Mulcahy of Pleasantville; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Caffrey and family, John Wren and daughters Margaret and Mary, Mrs. Murphy and daughter Nell, John Conway, Mrs. Ella Horseman, Mr. Will Wren, of Knoxville; (Continued on inside page) (continuation not attached)
