April 10, 1941 - September 2, 2016

Sharon Kay Deaton, age 75 of Mingo, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Kavanagh on 56th Hospice. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mingo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Greencastle Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Mingo United Methodist Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Gailard and Muzella (Brower) Clark, Sharon was born on April 10, 1941, in rural Collins, Iowa. She graduated from Collins High School in 1959. On June 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to Sonny Deaton at the Collins Christian Church. She was also a member of the Mingo United Methodist Church. Sharon loved to sew, quilt and knit. She spent many hours doing these things and donated most of her final products to St. Jude's, University Hospital in Iowa City, children in Africa, newborns, and she even sewed gowns for stillborn babies.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Sonny; three daughters, Tamara Deaton of Clive, Tara (Jeff) Wirth of Story City, and Traci Imlau of Ames; two grandchildren, Logan Wirth and Rachel Wirth and two sisters, Lynn Anderson of Collins and Linda Sue (Dave) O'Donnell of Colo.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Patricia Gail Boozell and Beatrice Melohn and a brother, Ben Clark. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 2 Sept 216.
