Services Held Jan. 9 For Ronald Altes

Ronald Edward Altes, 79, of Collins died Saturday, January 9, 1993, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, of heart failure.

He was born September 3, 1913 at Mingo to George and Mae Hall Altes.

He served with the U.S. Navy and was a lifetime resident in the Collins area. He retired from farming in 1975. He was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church and the American Legion.

Ronald was married to Lois Kimberley on September 14, 1940 in Chillicothe, Mo., and she survives. They were the parents of a son, Frederick Altes of Las Vegas, Nev., a daughter, Joan Enfield of Collins, and 6 granddaughters who survive. He is also survived by a brother, Gerold Altes of Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wendell Altes and Royald Altes.

Funeral services were held at the Collins United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 12. The Rev. Robert Robinson conducted the services, and burial was in Graham Cemetery, Mingo. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa, Thursday January 21, 1993
