Wilbur McBride, 81, of 2314 Ridgeway, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1986 at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born Aug. 7, 1905 in Reasnor, the son of William L. and Laura Lillian Perry McBride. He married Esther Scott on March 22, 1931 in Jasper County. She died Nov. 1, 1984. He was a veteran of Word War II.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Schroeder of Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandsons: Rolf and Kirk, both of Fort Collins, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Ingrid of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Wayne of Newton; two sisters: Katherine Gerbracht of Seattle, Wash. and Margaret Longnecker of Fort Morgan, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother Dale.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Garland-Van Arkel Funeral Chapel (Oskaloosa, Iowa) with Rev. Milo Morris of the Central United Methodist Church (Oskaloosa) officiating. Burial will be at Wittenburg Cemetery, near Newton. Memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church.
