Wilbur C. Lindsey, age 85 of Colfax, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at Colfax Cemetery. The son of Fred and Pearl (Conley) Lindsey, Wilbur was born on October 5, 1929, in Mingo. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On March 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Shirley Godwin. Wilbur enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, writing poetry, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 62 years, Shirley; children, Cindy (Will) Henderson, Debra (Bob) Wakitsch, and Pam (Tom) Reed; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Ronald) Schumacher; brothers, Marvin Lindsey, Carey Lindsey, A. Jon Lindsey and Alvin Lindsey. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Craig; sisters, Gladys, Minnie, Lorene, Pauline, Donna, and Karen; and brothers, James and Fred. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 6 Apr 2015.
