Marguerite Helen Hamer, age 95 of Colfax, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the church. There will be a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Colfax Public Library. The daughter of Thomas H. and Mary Jane (Warrick) Wilson, Marguerite was born on March 11, 1920 in Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School. On October 5, 1940, Marguerite was united in marriage to Ernest Hamer in Colfax. Marguerite was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her children; Mary Jane (David) Conwell of Kalona, Iowa, Jim (Sue) Hamer of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Jerry Hamer of Altoona, Nancy (Don) Earles of Colfax, John (Liz) Hamer of Colfax and an honorary daughter, Erin (Mark) Erickson of Chandler, Arizona. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous very special nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 1985, siblings, Elizabeth Gay, Ruth Reynolds, Harry Wilson, Morris Wilson, Jack Wilson, and Mary Schrader and a grandson, Stephen Conwell. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 7 Apr 2015.
