Erma Elaine Means, 71, passed away March 29, 2015 in Iowa City, IA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, IA.

Erma was born November 18, 1943 in Iowa City, IA to Wayne and Velta (Bledsoe) Barber. She graduated from Newton Sr. High School and married Don Means, Sr. to which the couple raised 4 children. Erma enjoyed bargain shopping, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with her good friend, Helen Uballe. She is survived by her children, Don (Madrine) Means, Kim Means-Mullins, Dennis (Brenda) Means, and Steven Means; grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Mullins, Erin, Emily, Owen and Zoe Means; and her siblings, Delbert (Pat) Barber, Della (Keith) Patterson, Delane (Marvin) Overton, Dorothy Barber Yost, Gay (Keith) Moore, Larry (Diana) Barber, Karen (Barney) O'Hara, Sue Barber Giffin, and Kevin (Leisa) Barber, and brother-in-law, Art Diamond.
