William Bochentien
KELLOGG – Funeral services for William Bochentien, who died at his home in Los Angeles, Calif., May 30, were held at the Murdoch Funeral Home in Newton Wednesday afternoon, June 4, with Elder Ansel Holmes of Newton in charge. Music included two vocal solos, “The Lord Is My Shepherd” and “In the Garden” sung by Mrs. Maurice Rodgers with accompaniment by Mrs. R. L. Jackson. Six nephews served as pall bearers. They were William, Conrad, John and Ed Buchmeier, all of this place and Louis and Ernest Shaffer of Pearson.
Surviving relatives include his widow; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Buchmeier of this place, Mrs. Anna Bohle of Pearson, Ia.
Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery west of Kellogg.
Out of town attendants included Mrs. Bochentien of Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Hanson of Holstein, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Shaffer, Ernest Shaffer and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Meyers, Mrs. Susie Countryman, Mrs. Hulda Barrick, O. W. Troll, M. C. Price, Miss Lillie and Miss Dora Bohle all of Pearson, Ia.; Ed Buchmeier of Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smith and daughter of Cedar Falls; Emma Bobzin and Mrs. Ella Craven of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hartman and Dora Goerler of Des Moines; Fred Utter of Altoona; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Fitzpatrick and Anna Bochentien of Mason City.
