Mrs. Morman Dies at 83
Monroe Woman Suffers Stroke Monday; Enters Skiff Hospital
Mrs. Anna Morman, 83, a longtime resident of near Monroe, died this morning at 5:30 o’clock at the Skiff Memorial hospital. She suffered a stroke Monday and entered the hospital that evening.
Funeral arrangements are being made this afternoon.
Mrs. Morman was born in Marion county on Feb. 15, 1858, and was wed in Keokuk, Ia., to Marion Hagan on Dec. 30, 1877. To this union were born two children, a son, Oakley, and a daughter, Mrs. Julia Johnson, both of Otley, Ia.
Later she was wed to F. C. Morman on Dec. 18, 1888, and they lived on a farm east of Monroe 30 years. Mr. Morman died July 18, 1933.
Since the death of her husband, she had made her home with her children until April of this year, when she requested to enter a nursing home in Newton.
