Guest Dies From Cancer Sunday

Had Been in Ailing Health For Several Years - Nature of Ailment Determined Here

Mrs. Clara Redding, who has been visiting here from Harvey, Iowa with her sister in law Mrs. J. R. Schermerhorn died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock following an illness of a few days duration.

She had been in ailing health for several years suffering from cancer but the nature of her ailment was not disclosed until she was examined by a local physician.

Mrs. Redding was 78 years of age and a pioneer of Harvey, Iowa.

The body was taken Monday to Harvey, Iowa, where funeral services will be held some time this week. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, August 6, 1951
