Mrs. Pollard Dies, Had Fall Last Week,
Set Rites Tuesday

COLFAX (Special) - A fall in front of her home which broke her hip last Wednesday proved fatal to Mrs. Ellen Pollard, 91, longtime resident of Colfax. She died Sunday evening at Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton.

Mrs. Pollard was born in Cornwall, England, July 25, 1860. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wayne.

She lived a total of 45 years in Colfax. Her husband, Samuel Pollard, died in 1941.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Baptist Church at Colfax. Rev. B. Waage will officiate and burial will be at Colfax. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 1951
