Mark B. Brown, 49, of Iowa City, formerly of Conrad, died Monday, Nov. 1, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Gathering Place in the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton. Visitation with the family will be from 9 a.m. until the service time at the church.

Mark Benjamin Brown was born on January 25th, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Terry and Martha (Gardner) Brown. He received his education in the BCL Schools in Conrad. Mark was most recently employed in Iowa City in raising Schnauzer dogs and had previously done landscape work in Florida and Cincinnati, OH and homebuilding/marble working in Billings, Montana.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents Martha (Keith) Mizell of Newton, siblings: Douglas (Patricia) Brown in Oregon, Karla Wagner of San Diego and Elisabeth (Stephen) Dykhouse of San Diego, six nieces and nephews, several cousin and aunts and uncles including a special uncle Roger (Nancy) Gardner who was inspirational in his childhood.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents and a nephew.
