De Raad, Arthur I. – 1923-1992

Arthur I. De Raad, 68, of rural Prairie City, a longtime Jasper County resident, died Sunday, April 26, 1992 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29 at the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Jack Van Marion, pastor of the Des Moines Christian Reformed Church conducted the services. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery at Pella, with committal services held at 2:30 p.m. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials to Jasper County Hospice and the Jasper County Cancer Society are being accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Alta; three sons, Gene of Mesa, Arizona, Verlan of Colfax and Bruce of Prairie City; a daughter, Lorraine (Mrs. Mark) Le Mahieu of Oostborg, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Leona (Mrs. Carl) Horman of Reasnor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. De Raad was a farmer and operator of De Raad Trucking Co. He was a member of the Jasper County Cattlemen’s Association.
The son of Jasper and Marie Van Zee De Raad, he was born October 14, 1923 in Cordova in Marion County.
He was married to Alta Beyer June 10, 1942 in Monroe.
