Cleo Belle Cowman Fouch, 88, a longtime resident of the Monroe area and a former Prairie City area resident, died Thursday, October 15, 1992 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 19 at the Monroe United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Merrill, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the Monroe United Methodist or Jasper County Hospice are being accepted.
Survivors are a sister, Greta Hise of Ceres, California, four nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, a brother and a niece.
Mrs. Fouch was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, Monroe Women’s Club, Forever Young Club, Happy Home Club and United Methodist Women.
She had been employed at the Ankeny defense plant during World War II and in area restaurants, grocery stores and nursing homes.
The daughter of Vern and Carrie Noon Cowman, she was born October 23, 2903 in Marion County and was raised in the Pleasant Hill area, south of Prairie City.
She was married to Park Fouch October 24, 1922 in Des Moines.
