Christian Marion Jacobs, 80, a resident of Prairie City since 1959, died Sunday, August 9, 1992 at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 1992 at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 12 at Colfax Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Clayton Sugg, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the church are being accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Griselda; a son, Gerald of Des Moines; three daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Duane) Cole of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mary Milbourn of Colfax and Anna Van Ekeren of Prairie City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Jacobs was a self-employed baker. He was an army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Colfax.
The son of Herman and Jennie Hoffmeyer Jacobs, he was born September 11, 1911 in Newkirk and was graduated from Western Academy in Hull.
He was married to Griselda De Haas September 30, 1939 in Orange City.
