Martha Darlene Jack Johnston, 60, a long-time Prairie City resident, died Tuesday, February 25, 1992 at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 28 at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Robert Price of the Prairie City Christian Church conducted the services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery at Prairie City.
Survivors are her husband, B. R. “Buck,” five sons: Robert of Pella and Richard, John, Jay and Gary, all of Prairie City; a daughter, Barbara Smith of Colfax; a step-son, William Johnston of Brentwood, California; and 10 grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Catheryne Koder of Prairie City and two brothers, Dwight Jack of Pleasanton, California; and Thayne Jack of Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Genevieve Simbro, and a brother in infancy.
The daughter of D. W. and Lela Workman Jack, she was born June 26, 1931 in Monroe.
She was married to B. R. “Buck” Johnston November 9, 1955 in Rochester, Minnesota.
